Tamil movie Koozhangal represents India for Oscar Award Ceremony 2022



Eminent filmmaker and the chairman of the jury committee Mr. Shaji N Karun announced the selection of the country’s Oscar entry today in Kolkata. Speaking about the selection, Mr. Shaji N Karun said, “In the centenary year of Satyajit Ray, it is rather poetic that we had the screening in Kolkata. Ray was the torchbearer of Indian content to the world and we will strive to select a film that epitomizes Indianness and its varied culture.” Organized by Film Federation of India, this entire screening process was held at Bijoli Cinema. A panel of 15 judges had watched 14 films and shortlisted one that would represent India at the 94th Academy Awards.”
